Overview

RenaMed Biologics developed a proprietary cell-based therapy using human renal epithelial cells delivered ex vivo via a hollow fiber cartridge to replace lost kidney functions in acute renal failure patients. The lead product underwent two Phase II clinical trials, one completed and one terminated. Positive interim data was presented in 2005, but there is no evidence of further development after the late 2000s.
