Reproductive Health Technologies Project

The Reproductive Health Technologies Project (RHTP) was a Washington, D.C.-based non-profit organization dedicated to advancing reproductive health by promoting the development and availability of new technologies. Founded in 1988, the organization played a pivotal role in the clinical advocacy and public education efforts that led to the FDA approval of mifepristone (RU-486) in the United States. RHTP focused on a wide range of issues including emergency contraception, microbicides, and the safety of environmental chemicals on reproductive health. The organization ceased operations in late 2017, following decades of work bridging the gap between scientific innovation and public policy.
