Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene

The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene (RFMH) is a private, nonprofit membership corporation founded in 1952 to support and enhance the research and training objectives of the New York State Department of Mental Hygiene and its agencies. It provides administrative infrastructure, grant management, and organizational flexibility to facilitate scientific studies—especially those that cannot be easily accommodated through state processes. RFMH manages over $60 million annually in grants/contracts supporting pioneering basic and clinical science studies that have led to major advances in mental health care[1][4].
