Resperin

Resperin Corporation was a Canadian healthcare company primarily known for its historical involvement in the development and clinical testing of Essiac, a herbal tea remedy promoted as a treatment for cancer. Founded in 1977 by David Fingard, the company acquired the rights to the formula from its creator, Rene Caisse, with the intent to conduct formal clinical trials in collaboration with the Canadian government. Despite several years of investigation and public interest, the company was unable to provide conclusive scientific evidence of Essiac's efficacy as a cancer treatment. Resperin eventually ceased its research operations, and the rights to the Essiac name and formula were later transitioned to other commercial entities in the supplement industry.
