Rev1 Ventures operates as a venture development studio and seed-stage investor supporting high-growth technology and life sciences startups. Through its Catalyst Funds in partnership with The Ohio State University and Nationwide Children’s Hospital, it has enabled dozens of biotech/life science spinouts—some reaching clinical trials or FDA approval through its support. Its impact includes more than $450 million in exits from life science spinouts since inception. Portfolio company examples include Armatus Bio (gene therapy for rare disease), Eikonoklastes Therapeutics (ALS/cancer), STAQ Pharma (compounding pharma/manufacturing), Lentechs (“APIOC” lens for vision correction). In total across all sectors, over $600 million was raised by supported ventures in the region in recent years. The company itself does not conduct drug discovery or clinical trials but enables others to do so through funding and infrastructure.
