Revolymer

Revolymer was a UK-listed specialty polymer company that developed proprietary functional polymers for consumer, industrial, and healthcare applications, including low-adhesion chewing gum and nicotine replacement gum products. Although it had some healthcare exposure through nicotine gum, the company was not a therapeutics-focused biotech or pharma developer; its core competency was polymer formulation, controlled-release systems, and specialty materials. In 2016, Revolymer acquired Itaconix Corporation and simultaneously divested its nicotine gum business to Alkalon as part of a strategic refocus. In February 2017, the company changed its name from Revolymer plc to Itaconix plc, and its UK operating subsidiary was renamed Itaconix (U.K.) Limited. As a result, Revolymer no longer exists as an active standalone company name, but survives historically as the predecessor identity of Itaconix.
