The Rheumatism Foundation Hospital, located in Heinola, Finland, was a world-renowned specialized hospital dedicated to the treatment and rehabilitation of patients with rheumatic diseases. Founded in 1951 by the Finnish Rheumatism Foundation, it became one of the largest centers for rheumatology and orthopedic surgery in Europe. The hospital provided comprehensive care, including medical treatment, surgical interventions, and extensive physical rehabilitation services. It was particularly famous for its multidisciplinary approach to chronic inflammatory conditions, often referred to as the 'Heinola model.'
