Ribavirin BioPartners

BioPartners is a biopharmaceutical company originally based in Switzerland, specializing in the development of biosimilars and specialized pharmaceutical products. The company is best known for its product "Ribavirin BioPartners," which was one of the first generic ribavirin products to receive centralized marketing authorization in the European Union for the treatment of chronic Hepatitis C. In addition to antivirals, BioPartners developed biosimilar versions of interferon alfa-2b and a sustained-release formulation of recombinant human growth hormone (Somatropin). The company's portfolio focused on providing high-quality, cost-effective alternatives to established biologic and small molecule therapies. BioPartners was acquired by the Polish pharmaceutical group Bioton S.A. in 2007 to strengthen its international presence in the biologics market. Following the acquisition, its operations were integrated into Bioton's global strategy for biosimilars and recombinant proteins.
