RiboNovix

RiboNovix was a functional genomics-based biotechnology company focused on the discovery and development of novel anti-infectives designed to overcome drug resistance. Founded in 2003, the company utilized its proprietary Combinatorial Genetic Technology (CGT) platform, also known as the Instant Evolution System, to identify new ribosomal RNA (rRNA) drug targets and anticipate resistance mutations in bacteria. This technology, licensed from Wayne State University, enabled the design of antibiotics with potentially longer therapeutic lifetimes by targeting sites less susceptible to mutational escape. RiboNovix operated laboratories in Natick, Massachusetts, and was led by industry veteran Dr. Alison Taunton-Rigby until it ceased operations around 2010.
