RightCHOICE Managed Care, Inc. was a prominent healthcare company that primarily operated as the parent company of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Missouri. Based in St. Louis, the company provided a comprehensive suite of managed care services, including medical, dental, and pharmacy benefit management to individuals and employer groups. It was established as a for-profit entity to manage the business operations of the Missouri Blue Cross Blue Shield plan. In 2002, RightCHOICE was acquired by WellPoint Health Networks for approximately $1.3 billion. Following subsequent mergers, its operations became part of Elevance Health (formerly Anthem).
