Rikshospitalet-Radiumhospitalet HF

Rikshospitalet-Radiumhospitalet HF was a major Norwegian university hospital trust formed in 2005 through the merger of Rikshospitalet and the Norwegian Radium Hospital. As a public health trust, it served as a national center of excellence for specialized medical services, including organ transplantation, neurosurgery, and advanced cancer treatment. The institution was a cornerstone of Norwegian medical research, particularly known for its pioneering work in radiopharmaceuticals and immunotherapy. In 2009, the trust was merged with Ullevål and Aker hospitals to form Oslo University Hospital, the largest medical center in Scandinavia. Throughout its existence, it maintained close ties with the University of Oslo, fostering a robust environment for translational clinical trials. Several successful biotech companies, such as Algeta and Ultimovacs, originated from research conducted within its facilities.
