Company intelligence / Profile preview
The Rinecker Proton Therapy Center (RPTC) was a pioneering medical facility in Munich, Germany, dedicated to treating cancer patients with advanced proton beam radiation. As the first large-scale, hospital-integrated proton therapy center in Europe, it offered a highly precise alternative to conventional X-ray radiation. The facility featured five treatment rooms and utilized pencil beam scanning technology to target tumors with millimeter precision while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissue. RPTC treated a variety of indications, including prostate, brain, and pediatric cancers, attracting patients from around the world. However, following years of financial difficulty and insolvency proceedings, the center officially ceased its medical operations in early 2020.
