RNA Nanotherapeutics is a preclinical-stage biotechnology company focused on developing next-generation cancer therapies using innovative RNA nanotechnology. Founded by Dr. Xiaoting Zhang as a spinout from the University of Cincinnati, the company utilizes a proprietary platform to engineer multifunctional RNA nanoparticles that simultaneously target and treat therapeutic-resistant cancers. Its lead program, pRNA-HER2apt-siMED1, is designed to overcome treatment resistance in estrogen receptor-positive (ER+) and HER2-positive breast cancers by targeting the MED1 protein, a key co-driver of resistance. By utilizing an all-RNA composition, these nanoparticles offer high stability, tumor-specific targeting, and low systemic toxicity compared to conventional small molecules and biologics.
