RNA-TEC

RNA-TEC was a specialized biotechnology company based in Leuven, Belgium, that focused on the chemical synthesis of high-purity RNA and modified oligonucleotides. Founded by Dr. Brian Sproat, a pioneer in nucleic acid chemistry, the company provided custom synthesis services for a wide range of research and therapeutic applications, including siRNA and long RNA sequences. RNA-TEC was particularly recognized for its expertise in producing complex, chemically modified RNA molecules that are difficult to synthesize using standard methods. In 2008, the company was acquired by Integrated DNA Technologies (IDT) to enhance IDT's global RNA synthesis capabilities and establish a manufacturing presence in Europe. Today, the expertise and technologies developed by RNA-TEC are fully integrated into IDT's core product offerings.
