Rofil Medical

Rofil Medical was a Dutch medical device company specializing in products for aesthetic and reconstructive surgery. The company's flagship product was Artecoll, a permanent dermal filler consisting of polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) microspheres suspended in a collagen solution. Rofil Medical also distributed breast implants under the brand name M-implants, which were later revealed to be manufactured by the disgraced French firm Poly Implant Prothèse (PIP). Due to the fallout from the PIP scandal and other regulatory hurdles, the company declared bankruptcy in 2009 and is no longer active. Its PMMA filler technology eventually became the basis for Bellafill in the United States.
