Company intelligence / Profile preview
Rosanto Pharmaceuticals was a UK-based biotechnology company focused on developing novel small molecule therapeutics for inflammatory diseases, dermatology, oncology, and viral infections. Originally founded in 1997 as Charterhouse Therapeutics, the company specialized in synthetic mimetics of cyclopentenone prostaglandins. Its lead candidate, RPL-228, was a topical anti-TNF-alpha agent designed for the treatment of mild to moderate psoriasis. The company's pipeline also included RPL-208 for chemoresistant cancers and an antiviral program targeting severe respiratory infections. Rosanto was acquired by York Pharma in 2007 for £2 million to bolster its dermatological portfolio.
