Company intelligence / Profile preview
Rosetta Biosoftware was a prominent provider of bioinformatics software solutions designed to manage and analyze massive quantities of genomic, proteomic, and metabolic data. Originally established as a business unit of Rosetta Inpharmatics, the company became industry-renowned for its flagship product, the Rosetta Resolver system, which served as a standard for high-volume gene expression analysis. Following the acquisition of Rosetta Inpharmatics by Merck & Co. in 2001, Rosetta Biosoftware continued to operate as a specialized unit providing data management tools to major pharmaceutical companies and research institutions. In 2009, Merck announced the closure of the Rosetta Seattle facility and the transition of the Biosoftware business, effectively ending its run as a standalone brand. The company's technologies were instrumental in advancing the fields of toxicogenomics and biomarker discovery during the early 2000s.
