Rotation Medical was a medical technology company that developed a novel tissue regeneration system for the treatment of rotator cuff tears. The company's primary product, the REGENETEN Bioinductive Implant, is a collagen-based scaffold that is delivered arthroscopically to induce the growth of new tendon-like tissue. This technology represents a shift from purely mechanical fixation to biological augmentation, aiming to improve the quality of the tendon and reduce the likelihood of re-tears. Rotation Medical was acquired by Smith & Nephew in 2017 for $125 million upfront plus potential milestones.
