RoxRo Pharmaceuticals was a specialty pharmaceutical company based in Menlo Park, California, focused on developing innovative therapies for acute pain management. The company's flagship product, Sprix (ketorolac tromethamine) nasal spray, was developed as a potent, non-opioid alternative for the short-term treatment of moderate to moderately severe pain. Sprix received FDA approval in May 2010, providing a needle-free delivery method for a drug typically administered via injection. Shortly after this regulatory milestone, RoxRo was acquired by Luitpold Pharmaceuticals, a subsidiary of the Daiichi Sankyo Group. The acquisition was valued at approximately $60 million in upfront payments plus future royalties on sales.
