RU-COM was a prominent Russian investment group founded by Mikhail Abyzov that maintained a significant strategic focus on the life sciences and biotechnology sectors. The group operated as a holding company, managing a portfolio of innovative health ventures including NewVac, which developed personalized cancer vaccines, and Quantum Pharmaceuticals, a specialist in computer-aided drug design. During its peak, RU-COM was a key player in the Russian biotech ecosystem, bridging the gap between state-backed innovation and private venture capital. However, following the arrest of its founder in 2019 and subsequent legal challenges, the group's operations were largely suspended and its assets were liquidated or restructured.
