Rubicon Medical was a medical device company specializing in the design and development of interventional cardiology and radiology products. The company's flagship technology was a proprietary embolic protection filter used to capture debris during vascular procedures, such as stenting, to prevent complications like stroke. This low-profile filter was designed to be easily delivered and retrieved within the vasculature. In 2005, Rubicon Medical was acquired by Boston Scientific for approximately $70 million. The acquisition allowed Boston Scientific to integrate Rubicon's filter technology into its broader portfolio of cardiovascular intervention tools.
