Rubicor Medical was a medical device company focused on the development of minimally invasive tools for breast biopsy and tissue excision. Its flagship technology, the En-Bloc Biopsy System, was designed to remove large, intact tissue specimens in a single pass, providing pathologists with high-quality samples for more accurate diagnosis. The system aimed to bridge the gap between traditional needle biopsies and open surgical procedures by offering a less invasive alternative that could still provide comprehensive tissue analysis. Rubicor's products were used primarily in the management of breast lesions and suspected malignancies. Following financial difficulties and a Chapter 11 filing, the company's assets were acquired by Hologic in 2007.
