Rush Prudential Health Plans

Rush Prudential Health Plans was a Chicago-based managed healthcare and HMO company focused on providing commercial health insurance and managed care services in Illinois. The company was co-owned by Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center and The Prudential Insurance Company of America, and operated as a regional health plan rather than a drug-development business. It served roughly 300,000 members around the time of its sale. Rush Prudential was acquired by WellPoint Health Networks in March 2000 and is no longer an active standalone company. The entity is healthcare-related, but it was not a biotech, pharma, or therapeutics developer and did not have a clinical pipeline.
