Rx Africa is a pharmaceutical manufacturing company based in Ethiopia and a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Indian multinational Aurobindo Pharma. The company operates a significant manufacturing plant located in the Kilinto Industrial Park in Addis Ababa, which is dedicated to the production of generic solid oral dosage forms. Its primary focus is on addressing the healthcare needs of the African continent by producing essential medicines, including antiretrovirals (ARVs) for HIV/AIDS and anti-malarial treatments. By establishing local production capabilities that adhere to international Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards, Rx Africa aims to improve the accessibility and affordability of life-saving drugs in the region. The facility represents a strategic investment to reduce Ethiopia's dependence on imported pharmaceuticals and strengthen the local healthcare supply chain.
