In 2009, the company formed a joint venture called ZiRx Therapeutics with Zirus, Inc. to develop repurposed antiviral drugs using a host-target discovery platform. Rx for Africa aims to expand its distribution network beyond Ethiopia to become a major provider of essential healthcare products throughout the African continent. The company was established through a reverse merger in 2007 and was previously publicly traded on the OTC market.
