Company intelligence / Profile preview
RxHub was a healthcare technology company founded in 2001 by the three largest pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) in the United States: CVS Caremark, Express Scripts, and Medco Health Solutions. The company's primary mission was to develop a national electronic health information network to facilitate the secure exchange of patient-specific prescription information. RxHub's technology allowed physicians to access real-time information regarding patient eligibility, medication history, and formulary details at the point of care. In 2008, RxHub merged with SureScripts, the organization representing the nation's pharmacies, to form Surescripts. This merger created a single, unified network for electronic prescribing and clinical information exchange in the U.S. healthcare system.
