Company intelligence / Profile preview
Italiana Laboratori Bouty, also known as Bouty Healthcare, was an Italian pharmaceutical company founded in 1898 and based in Sesto San Giovanni, Milan. The company operated across multiple divisions, including healthcare, drug delivery systems, diagnostics, and biotechnology, specializing in over-the-counter medicines, generic pharmaceuticals, and diagnostic kits. Notably, Bouty was a pioneer in transdermal drug delivery technology, manufacturing medicated patches and orodispersible films both for its own portfolio and on behalf of third-party pharmaceutical companies like Novartis. In 2010, Bouty was acquired by the Swiss pharmaceutical group IBSA to expand its pharmacy distribution network and transdermal capabilities. The company was fully merged into IBSA Farmaceutici Italia in 2019, consolidating its operations into IBSA's Italian infrastructure.
