Company intelligence / Profile preview
Saad Investments Company Limited (SICL) was a prominent investment vehicle based in the Cayman Islands, serving as a primary international investment arm for the Saudi Arabian-based Saad Group. Founded by billionaire Maan al-Sanea, the company managed a diverse global portfolio of assets, including significant stakes in banking, real estate, and healthcare sectors. Its most notable connection to the healthcare industry was through the Saad Group's ownership and operation of the Saad Specialist Hospital, a major medical facility in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. In 2009, the company became central to one of the Middle East's largest financial collapses following a multi-billion dollar dispute with the Algosaibi family. Consequently, SICL entered into liquidation, and its history has since been defined by complex international litigation and asset recovery processes rather than active life science research or development.
