Company intelligence / Profile preview
Safeguard Biosystems was a molecular diagnostics company that developed rapid DNA-based testing platforms intended to bypass traditional culture-based microbiology. Historically, the company focused on sepsis and other infectious disease testing using molecular diagnostics and sequencing approaches, and later commercialized DairyGuard, a milk-pathogen testing solution for dairy quality control and mastitis-related pathogen detection. In October 2024, the business and assets of Safeguard Biosystems Holdings Limited were sold to Safeguard DX Limited, including intellectual property and certain overseas subsidiaries. The original holding company was subsequently dissolved on January 20, 2026. As a result, Safeguard Biosystems is best understood as an acquired/inactive legacy entity whose technology and brand assets appear to have continued under successor ownership.
