Safeguard Biosystems

Safeguard Biosystems has developed a proprietary multiplexed PCR and microarray-based molecular diagnostic platform capable of rapidly identifying a broad range of bacterial and fungal pathogens directly from complex sample matrices such as milk or blood. Their DairyGuard assay is commercially available to the dairy industry to improve herd health and milk quality by enabling early detection of mastitis-causing organisms. The technology has also been validated as a Laboratory Developed Test for use with human blood samples.[1] Clinical results indicate high correlation with traditional culture methods but with much faster turnaround times.[1]
