Sagent Strides

Sagent Strides was a strategic joint venture formed between Sagent Pharmaceuticals and Strides Arcolab (now Strides Pharma Science) to manufacture sterile injectable products. The partnership centered on a manufacturing facility in Bangalore, India, designed to meet US FDA standards for the production of generic specialty pharmaceuticals. In 2014, Sagent Pharmaceuticals exercised its option to acquire the remaining 50% stake in the venture for $25 million to secure its supply chain and gain full control over the manufacturing site. Following the acquisition, the entity was integrated into Sagent's global operations. The venture played a key role in Sagent's business model of sourcing and marketing complex injectable medicines.
