Sagmel

Sagmel, Inc. was a privately held pharmaceutical company headquartered in Libertyville, Illinois, specializing in the development, manufacturing, and marketing of over-the-counter (OTC) medications and nutritional supplements. The company established a dominant market presence in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), including Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Belarus, where it became a leading provider of consumer health products. Its portfolio featured well-known brands such as Theraflex for joint health, Nazol for nasal congestion, and Relief for hemorrhoid treatment. In 2008, Sagmel was acquired by Bayer HealthCare for approximately €265 million, significantly expanding Bayer's footprint in the rapidly growing Eastern European and CIS markets. Following the acquisition, Sagmel's operations and brand assets were fully integrated into Bayer's Consumer Care division.
