Saint Stephens Clinical Research

St Stephen's Clinical Research (SSCR) was a specialized clinical research organization and a wholly-owned subsidiary of the St Stephen's AIDS Trust (SSAT), based at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London. The company was a prominent leader in managing and sponsoring clinical trials for HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and hepatitis, notably coordinating the large-scale PrEP Impact Trial in England. SSCR also conducted numerous pharmacokinetic and phase 1-3 studies to optimize antiretroviral therapy in collaboration with major pharmaceutical partners. In 2018, the organization was wound down, and its research activities and trial sponsorships were integrated into the Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust.
