Saitama Daiichi

Saitama Daiichi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. was a Japanese pharmaceutical company specializing in the research, development, and manufacturing of transdermal therapeutic systems (TTS) and external preparations. Originally established in 1963 as a subsidiary of Daiichi Pharmaceutical (now Daiichi Sankyo), the company became a leader in the field of patches, ointments, and liquid medicines. In 2007, it was acquired by Nipro Corporation to expand Nipro's capabilities in drug delivery systems and contract manufacturing. Following the acquisition, the company was renamed Nipro Patch Co., Ltd. in 2008 and was eventually absorbed into Nipro Pharma Corporation in 2017. Its legacy includes the development of the Miltax (ketoprofen) patch, a widely used treatment for pain and inflammation in Japan. Today, its former facilities in Kasukabe, Saitama, continue to serve as a primary manufacturing site for Nipro's transdermal product portfolio.
