Salem Health

Salem Health is an active, community-based nonprofit regional health system serving Oregon’s mid-Willamette Valley. Its network includes Salem Hospital, West Valley Hospital in Dallas, and a broad set of specialty, primary care, laboratory and outpatient clinic services. The organization is primarily a provider and operator of hospitals and clinics rather than a drug-development biotech or pharmaceutical company, with services spanning emergency care, surgery, cardiology, oncology, vascular care, orthopedics, maternal-fetal medicine and laboratory diagnostics. Salem Hospital is one of Oregon’s larger acute-care hospitals and the system emphasizes quality improvement, patient safety and community health programs. For biotech-style fields such as modalities, targets and pipeline, most entries are not applicable because Salem Health does not appear to operate a therapeutic R&D pipeline in the traditional pharma sense.
