Salus Therapeutics

Salus Therapeutics was a privately held biotechnology company based in Salt Lake City, Utah, focused on discovering oligonucleotide-based medicines. The company developed capabilities in antisense and small interfering RNA therapeutics, along with delivery systems for DNA- and RNA-based drugs. Its core technology, OptiSense, was described as a cell-based oligonucleotide target identification platform used to discover drug candidates for genes of interest. Salus also worked on transfection polymers and nucleic acid delivery approaches supporting genetic medicine research. The company was founded in 1999 and was acquired by Genta in August 2003, after which it ceased operating as an independent company.
