Samaritan Daytop Village

Samaritan Daytop Village is one of the largest nonprofit providers of integrated substance use treatment, mental health counseling/services—including certified community clinics—and supportive housing in New York State. Founded in Queens circa 1960 as one of NYC’s first drug/alcohol counseling centers, it now serves over thirty thousand people annually through more than sixty locations across NYC’s five boroughs plus Long Island/lower Hudson Valley. Its mission focuses on holistic recovery from addiction/co-occurring disorders while addressing broader social determinants such as homelessness/veteran reintegration/family stability. It does not develop pharmaceuticals or biotechnology products but provides essential direct patient/client care to vulnerable populations through innovative integrative models that combine medical and psychosocial supports.
