Company intelligence / Profile preview
Sanko Junyaku was a Japanese medical diagnostics company that specialized in the development, manufacture, and sale of clinical diagnostic reagents and laboratory instruments. Established in 1950, the company became a key subsidiary of Eisai, focusing on in vitro diagnostics (IVD) for oncology, cardiovascular health, and infectious diseases. It was well-known for its expertise in tumor marker assays, including PIVKA-II and AFP-L3 for liver cancer detection. In 2011, Eisai integrated Sanko Junyaku into its broader diagnostic business, which was later divested to Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings and merged into LSI Medience Corporation in 2014. The company's legacy continues through its diagnostic technologies now managed under the LSI Medience umbrella.
