Company intelligence / Profile preview
Sapientia Pharmaceuticals was a biotechnology company dedicated to the discovery and development of novel targeted therapeutics for the treatment of various cancers and fibrotic diseases. The company's primary focus was its proprietary platform of protein kinase C delta (PKCδ) inhibitors, which were designed to disrupt mutant RAS signaling pathways and enhance immune responses by blocking TGFβ signaling. These inhibitors showed potential in treating a wide range of indications, including breast, lung, and pancreatic cancers, as well as systemic sclerosis. In July 2017, Sapientia was acquired by BriaCell Therapeutics, which integrated Sapientia's intellectual property and preclinical programs into its own immuno-oncology pipeline.
