Saskferco Products

Saskferco Products was a major Canadian manufacturer of nitrogen-based fertilizers and animal feed ingredients, operating one of the largest nitrogen production facilities in North America. Based in Belle Plaine, Saskatchewan, the company was established as a joint venture between the Government of Saskatchewan, The Mosaic Company (formerly Cargill), and Citibank Canada. Its product portfolio centered on granular urea, anhydrous ammonia, and urea ammonium nitrate (UAN) solutions, primarily serving the agricultural sectors of Western Canada and the Northern United States. In October 2008, Saskferco was acquired by the Norwegian chemical giant Yara International for approximately $1.6 billion, after which it was integrated into Yara's global operations as Yara Belle Plaine Inc.
