SB Life Science is a venture capital firm founded in 2001 as a specialized investment arm of SoftBank Corp, focusing on the global life sciences and healthcare sectors. The firm managed the SB Life Science Ventures I, L.P. fund, which had approximately $100 million in committed capital and targeted early to growth-stage companies in drug discovery, biotechnology, and medical devices. Operating from offices in Menlo Park, California, and Tokyo, Japan, SB Life Science provided strategic capital and cross-border business development expertise to help its portfolio companies expand into Asian markets. Notable investments included Optimer Pharmaceuticals, Gemin X Pharmaceuticals, and U-Systems.
