SBL Vaccin was a leading Swedish vaccine manufacturer and distributor best known for Dukoral®, the world’s first oral cholera vaccine with full WHO recommendation. Dukoral also protects against ETEC-related traveler’s diarrhea. The company had additional products including an inactivated polio vaccine and contract manufacturing services. At its peak before acquisition, it was the market leader for vaccines distribution in Sweden with over €38 million turnover in 2005. Clinical research included pilot studies on recombinant cholera toxin B subunit for Crohn's disease but no major new pipeline candidates were added after the Crucell acquisition.
