Scherer Laboratories

Scherer Laboratories was a specialty pharmaceutical company based in Dallas, Texas, that focused on the development and marketing of over-the-counter (OTC) and prescription products for dermatology and ear, nose, and throat (ENT) conditions. The company established a strong niche in the US market with a portfolio of branded products including HuMist nasal mist, Ear-Dry, and the X-Seb line of dermatological shampoos. In 1999, the company was acquired by Schwarz Pharma to bolster its US specialty pharmaceutical presence. Following the acquisition, Scherer's products were integrated into the Schwarz Pharma portfolio, which was later acquired by the global biopharmaceutical company UCB in 2006.
