Schering España

Schering España was the Spanish subsidiary of the German pharmaceutical company Schering AG, specializing in high-growth areas of the healthcare market. The company was a global leader in women's health, particularly in the development and commercialization of oral contraceptives and hormone replacement therapies. Additionally, it held a dominant position in diagnostic imaging, providing contrast media for X-ray, MRI, and ultrasound. In 2006, Schering AG was acquired by Bayer for approximately 17 billion dollars, leading to the integration of Schering España into the Bayer Schering Pharma division. Today, the entity's legacy continues through Bayer's extensive portfolio in oncology, hematology, and specialized therapeutics.
