Company intelligence / Profile preview
Schick Technologies was a pioneer in the field of digital dental imaging, best known for developing the first digital intraoral X-ray system. Founded in 1992 and based in New York, the company's technology replaced traditional dental film with electronic sensors, providing instant images and reducing radiation exposure for patients. Its flagship product line, Computed Dental Radiography (CDR), became a standard in modern dental practices. The company was acquired by Sirona Dental Systems in 2006, which subsequently merged with Dentsply International to form Dentsply Sirona. The Schick brand remains a prominent name in the dental radiography market under the Dentsply Sirona umbrella.
