Schultze Special Purpose Acquisition Corp. (SAMA) was a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) founded in 2018 by George Schultze. The company was established to identify and merge with a business that had undergone financial restructuring or was in a special situation. In December 2020, SAMA completed its business combination with Clever Leaves International Inc., a multinational cannabis company. The combined entity, Clever Leaves Holdings Inc., trades on the NASDAQ under the symbol CLVR and focuses on the production of pharmaceutical-grade cannabinoids and medical cannabis products. Clever Leaves operates large-scale, low-cost production facilities in Colombia and Portugal, holding EU GMP certifications for its products.
