Schwarz Bioresearch

Schwarz Bioresearch was a pioneering American biotechnology company specializing in the production of high-purity biochemicals, including nucleic acids, amino acids, and radiolabeled compounds. Founded in the 1940s as a division of Schwarz Laboratories, the company became a critical supplier to the global research community, facilitating significant advancements in molecular biology and biochemistry. It is notably recognized for being the first to commercially offer radiolabeled biochemicals, which were essential for tracing metabolic pathways in scientific research. In 1970, the company was acquired by Becton Dickinson and merged with Mann Research Laboratories to form the Schwarz/Mann division.
