Scientific and Production Center for Transfusionology

Scientific and Production Center for Transfusionology is a state-owned healthcare and research organization in Astana, Kazakhstan focused on blood collection, testing, processing, storage, and supply of safe blood components to medical institutions. The center also serves as a leading national transfusion medicine organization, conducting applied research, laboratory reference activities, donor management, quality oversight, and professional education for the blood service. Its operations include immunohematology, transfusion-transmitted infection screening, tissue typing, hematopoietic stem cell and transplant-related support, and blood component manufacturing. SPCT is not a drug-development biotech in the traditional sense, but it participates in advanced therapy initiatives, including Kazakhstan's CAR-T implementation program, where it contributes blood-cell collection and transfusion expertise.
