Scottish Biomedical was a Glasgow-based drug discovery company and contract research organization (CRO) that provided specialized services to the life sciences sector. Established in 1998, the company focused on assay development, high-throughput screening, and medicinal chemistry, leveraging its expertise to support external partners and its own internal research. Its proprietary pipeline primarily targeted neurodegenerative conditions, such as Alzheimer's disease through BACE inhibitors, and various oncology indications. Despite its role in the Scottish biotech ecosystem and collaborations with academic institutions like the University of Strathclyde, the company ceased operations and was dissolved in 2014.
