Scudder Kemper Investments

Scudder Kemper Investments was a prominent American asset management firm formed in 1997 through the merger of Scudder, Stevens & Clark and the asset management unit of Kemper Corporation. The firm provided a broad suite of investment products, including mutual funds, institutional asset management, and private wealth services to clients globally. Although the firm managed various sector-specific portfolios, including healthcare and life sciences funds, its primary business was financial services rather than biotechnology research or drug development. In 2002, the company was acquired by Deutsche Bank from Zurich Financial Services, and its operations were subsequently integrated into Deutsche Asset Management, which now operates as DWS Group.
